The Bounty

Our garden has exploded! My grandma lives just down the street from us and has a much bigger yard than us and has let us plant a garden in her yard. We’ve had to put a fence around it to keep the deer out. The fence fell down part of the way, and the deer nibbled the tomato plants but we still have a lot of stuff! We have had beans coming out our ears. David is getting ready to pull those plants, and the peas, and do a 2nd planting (I guess you can do that with beans and peas!) so we have more. And we have been able to get 2 HUGE green zucchini and a couple squash. We’ve also had a lot of Swiss chard, mustard greens, lettuce and some herbs. Oh, and some good peppers–green bell, purple and banana peppers. We’re really looking forward to the tomatoes being ready to pick and more squash, cucumbers and zucchini. We’re thankful to the Lord for this bounty. We planted to garden to help save money and to have some organic, healthy food without paying the hefty price. Do you have a garden this summer? What have you been enjoying from it?
